In edeck.me a page is not a fixed template: it is an ordered list of blocks. Each block is a section. The front page, pages, header and footer are all built by placing sections.

Creating or editing a section

1. Click New, or click a section in the list to edit it.
2. Choose the type (see below). When you change the type, the form shows that type’s options.
3. Write a section title. It is an internal name to recognise it in the panel lists.
4. Fill in the data: visible title, subtitle, text, image, button… In fields with language tabs, fill in every language of your site.
5. Save. The section does not appear on the site until you place it somewhere: on the Front page, on a page, or in the header or footer.

Most used types

• Section: text block with icon, title, subtitle, image, content and button. The most versatile.
• Section group: a container that places several sections side by side, in columns. The key piece for layouts.
• Section boxes and Section menu type 1, 2, 3: grids of cards or services. Their items come from a menu.
• Banner: full-width carousel with your banners.
• Articles / Products (and their “miniatures” versions): lists of articles or products from a category.
• Form: shows one of your forms.
• Map, Social network, Instagram, Menu: a map, social icons, Instagram photos and a standalone menu.

Common layout options

• Width (container or full bleed), columns and alignment of the content.
• Spacing above and below, with mobile variants.
• Contrast: “dark” paints the block with your primary color and white text. It is the way to make a block stand out.
• Background: image, position, size, color and a dark or light veil over the image.
• Anchor: a name to link to the block from the menu (#my-anchor) on one-page sites.
• Only for buyers of…: shows the block only to people who bought a certain digital product.

Tips

• The same section can be in several places at once; if you change it, it changes everywhere.
• If a card grid only shows buttons and not each card’s text, check the option that shows the text as a button: when it is on, each item’s summary disappears.
• The inner order of a block is fixed (icon, title, subtitle, summary, image, content, buttons). If you need a different order, use a Section group with two sections.
